I’m going to take you back in time for a minute here so be patient. It’s around 1980 and I decided to check out one of the many tribute bands that were springing up around that time. I wasn’t as big of a Led Zeppelin fan as were most of my friends at the time but I was into going that night and had some extra cash from cashing in my empties. I also wanted to check out the fairly new bar at that time, the Snowbird Hanger. To make a long story short these guys blew me away. They looked and sounded like Zeppelin.
Now let’s jump back to the hear and now. As far as looking like Robert, Jimmy, John-Paul, and Bonzo lets just say that like a lot of us they put on a few pounds. I noticed that they don’t pay as much detail to the authentic clothing anymore but I was never into that anyway. Their playing is still bang on including the keyboard playing by the lead singer Michael White. I did however have some problems with the night. Mr. White seemed to be having some problems reaching the higher notes. Although right on key he had nowhere near the clarity you would expect from someone imitating Robert Plant. It also seems that the Station is still working out the bugs in their sound system.
Over all though it was o.k. for hardcore Zep. fans that didn’t mind the older, longer tunes that took up most of the night.
