Funny Name - Great Food! I have
to say I was impressed with the food, something I really wasn't expecting
much of because it's a small sports bar. Most sports bars don't exactly put
much effort into their food, just deep-fried re-runs, you know? I don't know
who they have working in the kitchen, but you can tell that they take great
pride in what they dish out. I started with appetizers - breaded mozza
sticks with the usual marinara sauce accompanying it. Although a standard
for most sports bars, these were the fattest mozza sticks I've ever
encountered. They were so full of flavour! My partner in crime didn't have
any because she was late. What can I say - I was starving and couldn't
wait!! By the time she got there, I had already read the entire menu, top to
bottom. I was surprised at the great selections that were not just the same
things you see everywhere. I mean, sure, there are the standard clubhouse
sandwiches and such, but they actually had pork chops and steak on the menu!
When Laura and I finally ordered (gab, gab, gab), I ordered the Chicken
Quesadilla with rice. That Quesadilla was better than mine, and I love my
recipe for it!! Nice meal, and lots of it. I had to take more than half my
dinner home because of those big fat mozza sticks. The other half sure
enjoyed it when I got home, too!
The atmosphere there was really cozy, yet kind of loud, which was great! I hate having to talk quietly in a restaurant so the other patrons can't overhear everything you say! That sucks. So the gab session, as always, was loaded with laughter and general catching up, without having to keep it down. Woohoo!! I give this place an eight, and definitely want to go back with my other half to enjoy some drinks, friendly and attentive staff, and of course, good food.

This
months review was at Scroggies and I was very excited about going because I
had popped in once with some friends for drinks and I loved the atmosphere
so I figured the food was probably decent also. Well, was I wrong, the food
was amazing! First, yes, I must admit, I was late so I didn't get any of the
mozzarella sticks that Sylvia adored so much. But I did get an enormous meal
which was out of this world. They had a great selection on a very full menu
and lucky for me they had my very favorite, grilled chicken breast on a
Kaiser. May I suggest melted Mozzarella cheese on top? Can we name this the
SarniaRocks Grilled Chicken cause it rocks! Anyways, the chicken sandwich
was amazing with melted cheese, fresh large bun and fresh toppings. I had a
side of garden salad and it was very fresh, not the handy old bag-o-salad!
The helpings were very decent and I certainly left full and I think I left
some salad.
I loved the atmosphere, the closeness without falling all over each other. The place amazes me, when I stand at my booth I look around I can see how small it is but from sitting in those booths your so alone you would never know you are in such a small area with so many people. Bravo to the designer cause it is a great use to a small space. I certainly feel that this place deserves a 9 on my scale because everything from the service to the food was excellent. Will I ever actually find a 10... we'll see!
