Rick Steeves Band
Reviewer: Sylvia :
Here
goes. I’m not usually a reviewer of music, but I said yes because this group
is so good, it would be easy work. The group is the Rick Steeves Band,
regulars on the
They
play some rockin’ blues, a little bit of southern rock and just great music to
sit and listen to. But don’t just sit if you don’t want to!! The
music is great for dancing too; either kicking it up, or slow and easy with that
special someone. The dance floor was busy all night, led by the
band’s followers, who were lighting up the dance floor!!
The
venue, by the way, was Boomerangs. Laura couldn’t believe that I hadn’t been
to one of the most popular bars in town yet. I think that’s why she sent
me! I guess I just never thought to go there before. So this was my first
time at Boomerangs, and I was really impressed. I love the whole layout,
and the service was excellent!! I had the mozzarella sticks and they were
awesome. See, there I go slipping into a restaurant review again.
Sorry.
Ok,
back to the Rick Steeves Band. They were pretty versatile too. They were
able to play whatever requests came at them. Pretty impressive. Rick
himself played around with a lot of great riffs from Lynard Skynard, ZZ Top, and
more, and really loves talking up the crowd instead of just standing there
playing. This guy really enjoys what he does and it shows. I also
heard him talking to someone about teaching guitar lessons. After asking
some questions, I found out that Rick does indeed give lessons at a pretty
reasonable price. The student that takes lessons from him should do
well; he (Rick Steeves) is very talented.
I
give the Rick Steeves Band two thumbs up or five stars or whatever you want to
call it, just go and see them for yourself and you’ll be guaranteed a night of
great music!!
