Bio

Rick Steeves was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick and taught himself to play guitar at only 10 years old. Moncton was his home until he moved to Sarnia in 1975 to pursue his education. Although he moved here to attend Lambton College, he followed his passion for music and joined the Goodtime Band in 1977. They toured around together for almost 3 years, at which time her started up the band Windjammer in 1980. Windjammer had quite a following and toured across Southwestern Ontario city-to-city as the times dictated to week-end dinners followed by dancing the night away to live music. After a busy 3 years Rick Steeves ventured off again into a new band named The Figures. They played together for about a year when Rick rejoined The Goodtime Band and they entertained Sarnia-Lambton for 7 years until 1991, and until the Rick Steeves Band was born. For the first couple years the Rick Steeves Band traveled around more but as the liquor regulations got stricter as did drinking-driving laws people started to stay in more and the night life changed, but Rick Steeves kept rockin'! Although Rick played with his band many nights he also worked for a few years at Picker's Alley repairing guitars and amps and found out he had a real knack for that too! You can catch the Rick Steeves Band at regular gigs like Ups n' Downs hosting an open jam, or teamed up with local musicians such as Billy Heater & Al Weiss rockin' the house. The Rick Steeves Band is available for hire, you can even build your own band with just Rick, or the more the merrier, just let Rick know what you want.
